OTTAWA – Today former Mayor of Kanata Merle Nicholds endorsed Ottawa
mayoral candidate Jim Watson. Merle joined Jim and his volunteers for an evening canvass blitz in the Kanata area, knocking on doors and speaking with residents about the upcoming municipal election on October 25th.

“Last election I supported Larry O’Brien and I have been very disappointed with the last 4 years. What was promised and what was delivered are worlds apart,” the 3 term Mayor said.

“Jim is an experienced mayor of Ottawa with a solid track record of success,” adding that “Ottawa needs an experienced hand at the helm.”

Asked about her decision to back the former Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Merle explained, “Jim’s priorities are all about the people of Ottawa and responding to the needs of his constituents.

He is a real community builder. He brings people together and that is why I am supporting him for the next mayor of Ottawa.”

The municipal election is on October 25th.
